Inspiration: Tea in the Kitchen

Today's inspiration is this amazing kitchen. And tea, because I'm exhausted and tea fixes everything. I love the way the light looks in this kitchen, I imagine there are some lovely large windows that the sun shines in through. I also love the simplicity of the white brick tile on the walls with the repurposed wood table as an island.

Interiors: Wall Collage

via on Pinterest

I've always been a fan of displaying my photographs, and wall collages have always drawn my eye. They create a statement for that room, and some are even ever-growing. I have a wall collage in my bedroom above my bed.

They serve as a way to remember, but they're also a form of art in the way that you display them. I particularly love the warm, cosy feeling the collage in the kitchen above gives. Some are neatly aligned in a perfect rectangle, like this one below in a giant wall frame.

They also don't need to be of several different images, but can create one image!

Framed pictures in a collage are beautiful, they create such a work of art on your wall that your guests will be commenting on for years to come. Frame your favorite works of art and arrange them in a collage, or frame your own pictures.

What I love the most about a collage is that it can go anywhere and take up any wall space, such as this collage done on a stairwell. Genius!

Do you have a wall collage in your home? How do you like to arrange yours?

Friday Etsy Picks: Deer

Silver Deer Ring
{ via Sea of Bee }

This weeks Etsy picks are inspired by the herd of deer that live by my house. This gorgeous ring is definitely a statement piece that would serve as a conversation starter. This gorgeous ring has great detail and craftsmanship, as well. Absolutely stunning piece.

Deer Vinyl Wall Decal

One of the newly popular ways to decorate your home without hurting your walls is vinyl decals. These work great in all kinds of rooms, and decal designs range from simple to gorgeously intricate. These are a great idea for college dorms or apartment buildings where you have strict decorating rules.

This tote packs a lot of punch with its black and white design, especially with the regal deer. This would be a great bag for the summer to carry your books, phone, towel, and sunblock to the pool or beach.

Have a great weekend!

Working on: Screen Printing & Vector Art

Right now I'm working on this self portrait vector. It's been so long since I've done a vector, and I'm glad to be doing one again :) I'm not doing the whole picture, just going to finish the hair and do some of the shirt and shoulders. It'll be like a bust or something. Of sorts.

I'm also very excited because two books I ordered came! Printing by Hand (which is AWESOME, so much inspiration in that book!) and Printmaking and Mixed Media. I've been dying to try some screen printing. One of the projects at the top of my list is some pillows for my bed! Do you screen print? What do you like to make?

Here's some projects from the books:

DIY: Book Covered Bookshelf

Textured Wallpaper Book Covers
Image from Lowe's Creative Ideas

I was reading the Lowe's Creative Ideas weekend projects magazine this morning and found this fun little idea in there. It's a great way to spruce up a room, especially if you have some beat-up books.

If you don't have an existing extensive library at your fingertips, hit up garage/yard sales and antique shops for books in different shapes and sizes. Then pick up some funky wallpaper, I love the textured white paper that they use in the project.

It would also be a great way to display some cookbooks with vintage wallpapers.

Try this project out for yourself!
