I started this embroidery cross stitch project last night. It's freehand, I'm not following any pattern, but was inspired by the many projects I've seen on flickr and etsy. I'm working in black, gold, emerald, bronze, and mauve for the heart. I'm very pleased with it so far, it's instant gratification on a 5.5" hoop. The heart was an afterthought after I noticed the pattern I was making with the green x's so I decided to add a heart to the center.
I'd like to make some small ones to match it as well and hang the completed pieces in a group on my wall.
