Pumpkin & Apple Picking
Over the weekend Roy took me apple and pumpkin picking. It was really cold (and supposedly going to rain) but we had a blast! We enjoyed hunting for apples and running around the pumpkin field. We had lunch at the farm stand next to Johnson's Farms General Store and listened to the live band play. The warm apple cider was the perfect way to end the afternoon!
We both hadn't been apple picking since we were children and we had fun plucking them from the branches, planning to make some apple pie and cinnamon apple bread.
This little girl's enthusiasm had me hysterical. Not to mention, this is what I looked like as a child - right down to the purple leggings she was wearing.
When I saw the first big one I wanted I ran over to it like a four year old and shouted "This one!"
And of course I was wearing my boots. There was only two of us but we wanted lots of pumpkins. I was using any means necessary to carry them - see the stashed pumpkin in my bag? (P.S. that's my new Epiphanie bag from the wonderful girls at Shutter Sisters and Maile Wilson)
I'm even happy to find the little ones!
Later this week: DIY Fall Decorations - painting mini pumpkins and gourds (aka Jack b' Little gourds) and more!

ReplyDeleteYour photos are beautiful!! And so are you! This has me dying to go to a pumpkin patch even more than I already was. And the pumpkin in the bag is adorable. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Katie! It was a great date day, we had so much fun - I hadn't done it in years.
